Same diner out past Franklin I mentioned the other night. What I didn't mention was the '78 Shovelhead parked out front, oil spot under it like a signature, because that one deserves more than a footnote.Corner booth, denim vest gone soft as an old dollar bill, black coffee, no phone anywhere in sight. Sundown on the Trace, Again

Road Trip Food Stop Golden Hour Cruiser

Took the Heritage out on the Trace again last evening, same stretch past Loveless heading south, chasing that low orange light through the trees before it dropped behind the ridge.Pulled off at a gravel turnout where an old farmer was loading hay onto a flatbed truck. He looked at the bike, nodded once, and said that thing sounds about right. Didn't need to say much more than that.Rolled back into town after dark with the headlight cutting through bugs and moths, stopped one more time for coffee at a place that's been open since before I was born. Some rides don't need a destination, just the road and the sound of the motor.
