Stopped at a gas station somewhere past Kingman a little after sundown, empty desert in every direction and just the hum of the fluorescent lights. Sometimes the best part of the ride isn't the road, it's standing still in the middle of nowhere with the engine ticking and the stars starting to show up one by one.
