Rode out to Hackberry this evening, that old store on 66 with the rusted cars parked out front like the place never agreed to let the fifties end. Everything closed up by the time I got there, which is the way I like it. Sat on the bike across the road a while and watched the light go off the hills behind the building. Nobody came by either direction. Rode back in with the heat finally breaking and the headlamp doing all the work.

Hackberry with the doors shut is the only way to see that place. Middle of the day it is four tour vans deep and everybody taking the same picture of the Corvette.

That is about the size of it. I do not think I have ever stopped there before sundown.
