Up to the valley and back

Ran north out of Kingman on Friday and rolled back in Sunday night. Slept in Kayenta, was moving again before the sun cleared the mesas. Out there the road does not care whether you are on it or not, and that is most of the reason I go. Three pictures out of about a hundred and thirty that were worth keeping.

End of the first day, cliffs going red about the time I should have been looking for a room.

Red sand the whole length of the valley loop. Two hours and one other vehicle.

Heading back south. Pavement out here cracks like dry mud and nobody is in a hurry about it.

That last one with the pavement coming apart is every road out my way after one summer. Nobody is coming to fix it either. Good set.

Sixty-six through here is the same story. They patch it once and then let the sun have it back.
