Sunday run down the 14 to Red Rock
Waited until the worst of the heat was off the valley and ran south as far as Red Rock. Two stops, both of them places I go past all summer without ever getting off the bike. The XT does not mind gravel, which is the whole reason it still wears knobbies in September.

Up the wash into the canyon, gravel the whole way and the rabbitbrush still out

That second one is the part nobody photographs, everybody stops at the overlook and turns around there. Two stops on a Sunday and neither of them a town, that is the whole point of having the thing.

Most people do turn around at the overlook. The canyon road is better and it is right there.
