First properly cold evening of the fall and I took the bobber down Lake Shore anyway, out past the Grosse Pointes and back along the water. Rigid frame on those patched stretches by the yacht clubs is about as smart as it sounds, but I built it to be ridden and not looked at. No gauges, no clock, nothing to do out there but watch the road come at you. Hands were finished by the time I got back and I still sat in the garage a while with the door up.

First cold one off the lake gets everybody here too, and it always shows up a week before you think it will. Mine gets called a show bike and it still goes out every weekend, so I know what you mean about building it to be ridden. Rigid on patched pavement in that air is a choice, but sitting in the garage after with the door up is the part nobody puts in the photos.
